Job Description

Location: California (can be located in another state- West Coast preferred)

Compensation: Base Salary $60,000-$110,000+ (Negotiable) + Unlimited Commissions & Bonuses

License Required: Current California Life & Health License

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Consulting

  • Develop and execute a Personal Excellence Plan with agency leadership.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with prospects and centers of influence.
  • Consistently engage prospects, partners, and clients through a value-driven relationship strategy.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to prospective and existing clients.
  • Follow the agency's consultative sales process and best practices.
  • Provide employee benefits risk management and loss prevention guidance.
  • Cross-sell additional agency services and solutions.
  • Generate new business through referrals and networking.
  • Collaborate with fellow advisors and internal teams on sales opportunities.

Client Service & Retention

  • Proactively manage renewals and ensure timely completion of services.
  • Assist with marketing and placement strategies for client accounts.
  • Review and present benefit proposals to clients.
  • Work collaboratively to design and recommend benefit plans and coverage options.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and client records within Epic.
  • Help resolve claims, billing, and premium issues while maintaining thorough records.
  • Identify additional resources and solutions to support client needs.
  • Build and maintain a profitable, long-term book of business.

Professional & Team Development

  • Execute your Personal Excellence Plan and achieve established goals.
  • Continuously develop technical industry knowledge and sales expertise.
  • Attend and actively participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Manage relationships and workload while consistently achieving sales objectives.
  • Represent the agency at industry events, professional associations, and community functions.
  • Deliver educational presentations, webinars, and professional sessions.
  • Participate in nonprofit organizations and serve on at least one community board.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, carriers, and partners.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current California Life & Health License.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales goals and business development objectives.

Preferred

  • 4+ years of experience as an Employee Benefits Risk Advisor.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Established network and transferable book of business.
